Available Positions

Behavior Support Professional

  • Assists with writing, revising and reviewing behavior support strategies
    • Chairs and prepares agenda for monthly Psych Med Meetings
    • Attend and present at Human Rights Committee meetings
    • Assist with development of Biological Trauma Timelines
  • Provides training to staff
    • Quarterly for Positive Supports First leaders
    • Assists with developing staff training programs
    • Ensure new staff are trained and on-going training is completed for all staff

Starting salary is $37,440 based on education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field and 1 year experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities

Consumer Services Professional

Responsible for coordination of all medical services and appointments to ensure quality health care for individuals.

Specific Duties Include:
•    Monitor, schedule and track appointments
•    Complete medical documentation and communication
•    Transport individuals to appointments
•    Perform Quality Assurance on medical documentation
•    Will also provide direct care in homes

Starting wage is $13.95 based on  experience.

Requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities

Day Hab Professional (DHP)

Our DHP’s are awarded the opportunity to enhance the lives of the individuals we serve by helping them live life to the fullest every day!  We currently have a full time first shift opening (Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, may vary depending on need).  Will be required to work every other weekend.

6 months work experience in the field of developmental disabilities is required.  Candidates must have dependable work history, compassion, flexibility and patience. Competitive wages of $13- $14.36/hour depending on experience.

The DSP position for our DayHab facility requires:
•    Valid driver’s license and good driving record;
•    High School diploma or GED;
•    Pre-employment background screening;

Direct Care Aide

Looking for a rewarding job while obtaining experience towards your career.  Our Direct Care Aides assist with meal prep, serving meals, household cleaning and non-intimate personal care (nail care, hair care, oral care & therapy programs).  Flexible shifts to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.   No experience necessary.

Starting wage is $10.50/hour.  Will receive an additional $1.00/hour for direct care hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements:
•    At least 16 years of age; if under 18 must be actively enrolled in high school;

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Third Shift

Our DSP’s are awarded the opportunity to enhance the lives of the individuals we serve by helping them live life to the fullest every day!  We are currently hiring individuals full-time for Third Shift Hours.  No experience necessary. Candidates must have dependable work history, compassion, flexibility and patience.  Competitive wages of $15.00/hour to start.  You could receive additional compensation if you are a driver and/ or a med passer.  Will receive an additional $1.00/hour for direct care hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

•    High School diploma or GED (or receive a waiver to obtain within a 2 year period from date of hire)

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

(1st – 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.   2nd – 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.)  No experience necessary. You could receive additional compensation if you are a driver and/ or a med passer.  Will receive an additional $3.00/hour for direct care hours worked between 11pm and 6am  and an additional $1/hour on Saturday and Sunday.

Direct Support Professional Trainer

We currently have openings for Direct Support (DSP) Trainers.

  • Will train all new DSPs within the facility groups.
  • Act as mentor to new DSPs
  • Act as liaison to supervisors, Staff Development and management regarding needed training for DSPs
  • Maintain weekly food and supply list and complete shopping
  • Will take minutes at staff meetings
  • Complete all direct care duties of a DSP

DSP Trainers will earn an additional 50 cents more per hour.  Will receive an additional $3.00/hour for direct care hours worked between 11pm and 6am and an additional $1/hour on Saturday and Sunday.

Home Management Specialist

What is your passion in life?  Do you enjoy interacting with people and assisting people to be independent?  If so, this is the job for you.

WLRS Home Management Specialists are leaders in WLRS’ residential homes for people with developmental disabilities.
The technical side is explained as: ensure compliance with state & federal regulations, ensure coordination of services, develop & monitor effective programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, coordinating all medical services and appointments to ensure quality health care for individuals, completing medical documentation and communication, transporting individuals to appointments, keeping IAF documentation up-to-date, performing Quality Assurance on medical documentation.

While completing all these tasks, the Home Management Specialist will create incredible bonds with the amazing individuals in the homes.  This position makes the heart grow.

Requirements include:

  • HS Diploma & 2 yr exp. in the field of developmental disabilities or Bachelor Degree in Special Education/related field & 1 yr exp. in field of developmental disabilities
  • Background check, drug test, valid drivers license & acceptable driving record required
  • Hourly wage is $15.00 to $17.12 based on experience

Job Coach

Will provide job coaching using a person-centered approach; provide necessary supervision; complete daily documentation; implement Individual Plans; provide task analysis for each job and environment; participate in job discovery process including job matching.

Maintenance Specialist

Duties include general maintenance, carpentry, electrical, roof repair, plaster, painting, masonry work, inspection of buildings, safely operating machines and tools, maintenance of records, on-call rotation, etc.

Minimum starting pay rate is $15/hour.  Rate is determined by years of related work experience.

Requirements include:

  • Skill/knowledge of safe work practices in routine maintenance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to be insured by company insurance with a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening
  • Must excel in team work

Residential Manager

Will ensure successful operation of group homes.

Duties include:

  • Direct Supervision of Home Supervisors, Direct Support Professionals and Direct Care Aides: will complete performance appraisals; intervene in corrective action; maintain Cert Files; prepare monthly staff schedules
  • Provide on-call support
  • Programming Duties: review program error reports; audit monthly paperwork; attend surveys;
  • Facility Operations: ensure facilities operate within budget; audit consumer finances; maintain Med Pass Certification.

Requirements include:

  • Must have 2-3  year’s supervisory experience
  • 2 year’s experience in field of DD
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education/related field preferred but not required
  • Maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report and proof of liability insurance

Shift Supervisor: First, Second & Third Shift Openings

Will provide  support, guidance, assistance and direct supervision to residents and staff in all facilities. Duties include:

  • Support and guidance per shift: provide direction regarding work related injuries; provide drop-in visits to facilities; manage emergencies and unusual incidents; ensure emergency/MUI notifications are made as needed; arrange coverage for staff absences
  • Facility Operations: assist with emergency drills; provide direct supervision to residents; administer medications; maintain documentation

High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months’ experience or training in the field of DD. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record & pre-employment background screening. Starting pay $15.50/hour with an additional $3.00/hour during the hours of 11pm and 6am.

First Shift Hours – 6am-4pm or 7am-5pm
Second Shift Hours – 1pm-11pm or 2pm-12am
Third Shift Hours – 10pm-8am

Shuttle Driver – Full Time

Our Shuttle Drivers provide safe non-medical transportation while providing assistance to the passengers.  Duties include completing paperwork, inspection of the vehicle, schedule regular maintenance and repairs for vehicle and annually attend safe driving course.  Candidates must have:  dependable work history, flexibility and patience.  Competitive wages of $13.50 to $14.91/hour depending on experience plus an excellent benefit structure.

Requirements include:

  • Valid driver’s license; must be at least 25 years old and insurable per procedure; 4 years driving experience; knowledgeable of Ohio driving laws

Shuttle Driver Substitute Positions

Will provide safe transportation for adults with developmental disabilities throughout Wood County.  Will complete daily inspections, schedule maintenance & repairs and complete required documentation. You must be at least 25 years of age, have a High school diploma/GED, an acceptable driving record & valid license & complete pre-employment background screening and pass a DOT physical.  Starting rate of pay is $13.50/hour.

Supported Living Supervisor

Will assist with all Supported Living Department operations.

Duties include:

  • Assist with the direct supervision of Consumer Services Professional and Direct Support Professionals:  will complete performance appraisals; intervene in corrective action; maintain Cert Files; prepare monthly staff schedules
  • Provide on-call support according to rotation schedule
  • Programming Duties: review program error reports; audit monthly paperwork; attend surveys; responsible for caseload of medical appointments (will monitor, schedule, track appointments, complete medical documentation and communication and transport individuals to appointments) and provide direct care to individuals at a minimum of 30 hours per month
  • Department Operations: ensures department operates within budget; audit consumer finances; maintain Med Pass Certification.

Requirements include:

  • Must have 1  year supervisory experience or WLRS supervisor training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education/related field and 1 year experience in field of DD or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 year’s experience in field of DD
  • Maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report and proof of liability insurance

Starting salary $35,568

Transportation Scheduler

Responsible for coordinating the schedules for all clients’ non-medical transportation.  Duties will include:

  • Complete weekly calendar ensuring all routes and clients are added into ParaPlan for each driver
  • Provide classroom and driving transportation training to all new employees per annual training schedule or as needed and complete required test off and paperwork
  • Serve as back-up Shuttle Driver as needed providing safe transportation for adults with developmental disabilities throughout Wood County

Requirements include:

  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Maintain Department of Transportation Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • MUST have experience creating and managing schedules
  • Successful completion pre-employment background screening
  • Excellent skills in organization, time management and detail oriented

This is a full-time, non-exempt 40 hour per week position.  May also be required to work evening & weekend hours and serve as on-call back up.  Pay is based on level of experience with entry level at $14.50/hour.
